The First-tier Tribunal for Scotland Social Security Chamber ("the Chamber") is independent and impartial.
We listen to both sides involved in the appeal and consider all the facts and evidence before making a decision on the appeal.
At the moment we can only deal with appeals against decisions on Best Start Grant. This includes Pregnancy and Baby Payment, Early Learning Payment and School Age Payment.
We also deal with appeals against decisions on Funeral Support Payment and Young Carer Grant.
These benefits are awarded by Social Security Scotland. In time more benefits will be devolved to Scotland and any appeals will be heard by this Chamber.
If you want to appeal a decision that is not about a Best Start Grant visit the DWP's Appeal a Benefit Decision.
